Creating an ad-hoc shift - PowerForce Workshop™

Introduction

To create an ad hoc shift, you first select the site at which you wish to add the ad hoc shift to.

Then press the Adhoc shift button (as above)

The above represents the minimum information required to create ad hoc shifts.

The system will default the From Date to the date of the cell that your cursor is sitting when you press the ad-hoc shift button.

To extend the number of days that you want shifts for, you must first change the To Date, and then you can tick the "Days" checkboxes (as above) and pick and choose the actual days on which you want these shifts.

When we open up the shift (double-click) you can see that it has no detail in any of the highlighted fields.

Until you assign an employee to the shift, the system cannot commence to appraise and cost the shift.

Replacing / Assigning an employee to the ad hoc shift

Select the shift that you wish to assign an employee to, and from the dropdowns that follow select a suitable employee. This is selecting just one shift to one employee.

If you wanted to assign all the adhoc shifts created to the one employee, you would:

ad hoc shifts select the Ad-Hoc on the left hand side of the screen. Then press right-click on your mouse to get the above context menu or you may press the "Replace" button as in the earlier step.

Once the employee has been assigned to the shift, the system can then cost it out.
