Long Service Leave

Introduction

The control of the rate of accumulation of long service for an employee is managed via the employee's classification code.

Introduction

We will work this example backwards, by resolving an error in processing. The below is an error message indicating that the employee is not entitled to Long-Service leave, yet you believe the employee is entitled.

Step 1 - Resolve classification code

To resolve this error, find the classification code to which the error refers (this is the employee's current classification). In this case the classification code is “AHA 000016”.

Select the necessary classification code, click on the Entitlement Tab.

This confirms that the classification is not entitled (in this definition) to Long Service (LSL) - there's no entry in the field. To enable Long Service entitlements, press the drop down to preview the available LSL codes.

Save the classification record – and this classification will now allow the Rostering of Long Service Leave.
